DEBCAR UPDATE # 9
Published November 23, 2004 / Covering June 22 to September 9, 2004
Welcome to the all new DEBCAR website!
Well, that's a tad hyperbolic, but you probably noticed that we have revised our home page to display a map of our current location, and a listing of where we've stayed recently but haven't gotten around to writing about yet. This should help during those occasional periods when we neglect to update the website for days, weeks, or months at a time. Now you can just just drop by anytime and at least get a glimpse into our recent travel and see where we are at the moment. The archives section now has our older updates arranged in the same photo-enhanced style as the home page also, making it easier to browse our past adventures.
Another quick technical note about the website: If you're using the groovy new Firefox browser like Debbie and I are, you might notice that the little "tooltip" messages that normally pop up when you hover the mouse over a picture don't appear anymore. This is one of those cases where a bug really is a feature, or at least, was done on purpose. The Firefox writers fervently believe that Microsoft was misguided/evil to display hovering text like they do, and refused to duplicate the feature in Firefox. If you aren't quite so religious about the internal workings of the web, and just want to be able to read the occasionally clever, often droll, captions on DEBCAR and thousands of other websites, you can download a plugin for Firefox that solves this problem by clicking here.
The stories below describe how we spent the summer in the Los Angeles area:
Summertime at our West Coast Base
Buttonwillow High Performance Driving Clinic
Next time we'll catch up with how we spent the fall meandering up the California coast and hanging out in the central valley. With winter fast approaching, we have moved to San Francisco for a week or so, before heading toward Salt Lake City for a little business and skiing in mid-December, then back to Texas around Christmas time.
Until then, we hope y'all had a Happy Thanksgiving, and how you like the all new DEBCAR website.
- Carey
